=================================== Return To Castle Wolfenstein IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS =================================== INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: This setup will install the linux binaries for Return To Castle Wolfenstein (Multiplayer and Single Player) in /usr/local/games/wolfenstein (or any other location you request). It WON'T INSTALL ALL THE FILES REQUIRED TO RUN RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN. You will need to manually copy a number of files to the /usr/local/games/wolfenstein/main directory. The procedure is different wether you have a retail win32 Wolfenstein CD-ROM, or wether you have the Wolfenstein GOTY edition. See below for the appropriate instructions: Installing from a retail win32 Wolfenstein CD-ROM: -------------------------------------------------- You need to download a wolf-linux-*-full.x86.run setup file (replace '*' by the latest version, file is approx 80Mb). The full setup contains the latest RTCW Linux binaries and the GOTY updates. From a retail Wolfenstein installation on Windows, copy the following files to your /usr/local/games/wolfenstein/main directory: Please note that the files are not directly accessible on the CD, they are packaged inside the installer. If you don't have a windows installation to perform the extraction of the files, you can run the win32 setup from linux using WINE (http://www.winehq.com). We know it's a clumsy solution either way and we don't have an alternative to provide (see Wolfenstein GOTY below). mp_pak0.pk3 62641cffd9a8ad0f62cc1cca867d51f8 mp_pak1.pk3 22b972974f499a237c96a2200b0d019e mp_pak2.pk3 30f29ffa81748a957e0441af8c14cb56 pak0.pk3 ce92b11df889cb0a045762bb5fd7cde5 sp_pak1.pk3 a0d3fe956f85f40c8efd6babe0d09832 sp_pak2.pk3 330b272d5261fe19fcf3c3fbc943c7f3 Installing from Wolfenstein GOTY edition: ----------------------------------------- You need to download the wolf-linux-*-GOTY.x86.run setup file (replace '*' by the latest version). This file is much smaller than the full release (approx 10Mb). You need to copy over the .pk3 files from the Wolfenstein GOTY CDs to /usr/local/games/wolfenstein/main directory. Most files are on CD 2, but you need to copy from CD 1 also (Setup/Data/Main directory). See the list below for details. You don't need Wine or a win32 installation, the files are stored as-is on the CDs. mp_pak0.pk3 62641cffd9a8ad0f62cc1cca867d51f8 mp_pak1.pk3 22b972974f499a237c96a2200b0d019e mp_pak2.pk3 30f29ffa81748a957e0441af8c14cb56 pak0.pk3 ce92b11df889cb0a045762bb5fd7cde5 sp_pak1.pk3 a0d3fe956f85f40c8efd6babe0d09832 sp_pak2.pk3 330b272d5261fe19fcf3c3fbc943c7f3 mp_pak3.pk3 fdc00dfd72b888e92a4387e1933826e4 mp_pak4.pk3 c5f76bbde262eba577a00bebe9cd4f8f mp_pakmaps0.pk3 f2d361a0082ed9bc1e26d2327b4f22db mp_pakmaps1.pk3 d1856aa9bc62f719a400428b9ec27ebb mp_pakmaps2.pk3 a0ee8714c6f7ee72680293778c22d6ee mp_pakmaps3.pk3 01bb7c4fb3b11273d75ae658fb4de0cc mp_pakmaps4.pk3 a39525809f7a0780f5546063dad1e5d1 mp_pakmaps5.pk3 bb24fb011b0f4b84335c66a869d1ab1c mp_pakmaps6.pk3 397e0b48673a1a8e0ec25eb0f3ccae9d sp_pak3.pk3 cf25d6731ed29c80303febbb177aa585 sp_pak4.pk3 4223cc6588594ec0ceee186f0e73a6e9 ENTERING THE CD-KEY: The first time you run the multiplayer game, you will need to go to 'Options', and click on 'Enter CD Key' button. Enter the CD key (it's on your CD Jewel case). NOTE: you don't need to give a CD key if you are installing a dedicated server. SINGLE PLAYER: The binaries for the single player part of the game are included. Saved games are compatible with the up to date windows version.
